Map developed by request of a great fan of the famous TV series, Mr. Mario Massaglia, who I own my gratitude by proportion such a pleasurable work.
The High Chaparral was a famous TV series created in 1967 by David Dortort (the same from the TV series Bonanza), placed in the American state of Arizona around the year of 1885.
This map will be displayed on the annual meeting of the fan Club in celebration to the 50th anniversary of the series in Tucson, Arizona/USA, in March 2017.
It was maybe the most challenger and long map that I did, innumerous interviews with Mario Massaglia, watch and relive dozens of episodes of the series, search about the geography, weather, vegetation, indigenous ethnics, costumes, expiation to the west of the USA, anyway, it was all a process so I could be acquainted to the reality of the show and be able to build a trustworthy map and plastic attractive.
I used as a basis a map of 1887 and added multiple modifications to suit the necessities of the theme, but without any cartographical damages of the period.
Measures without frame: 0,91 m x 0,81 m (~2ft 11,8in x 2ft 7,9in).
Execution time of the original: 6 months (research and construction).
Material: polyester film 75 microns.
Technique: shapes and geographical accidents traced with nakin pen, painted with soft pastel and fixed with protector varnish against fungus, moisture and weather per the technique created and develop by Francisco Stein – 100% Handmade.
We send with the map a Certificate of Authenticity with details of the map, unique serial number, signed and authorized by the artist.
