Artistic reproduction from the original, this magnificent art piece portrays all the South America; the fauna, the flora, the indigenous ethnicity and their culture, real and imaginary geographic accident, Hereditary captaincy of Brazil already a little bit altered compared to the original demarcations; main Portuguese and Spanish villages, etc. The map becomes even more curious by been idealized and built by a Venetian cartographer, where until then they were one of the “lords” of the Mediterranean Sea and only a few had courage to adventure on the Atlantic and Pacific oceans.
This map is part of a series of maps about the colonization of the Americas pretentious personal project that looked to sharpen the curiosity on students about our history with its distribution in classrooms of all learning levels, project that did not go through due the lack of interest by the responsible agencies for the education and culture in our country.
Measures without frame: 1,12 m x 0,78 m (~3ft 8,1in x 2ft 6,7in) / 0.60 m X 0,42 m (~1ft 11,6in X 1ft 4,5in).
Execution time of the original: 362 horas.
Material: polyester film 75 microns.
Technique: shapes and geographical accidents traced with nakin pen, painted with soft pastel and fixed with protector varnish against fungus, moisture and weather per the technique created and develop by Francisco Stein – 100% Handmade.
