Artistic reproduction from the original, it is the first scientific attempt to do a map of the Terrestrial Globe. Joining astronomical information from multiple observatories spread around the world, the data were compiled on the Observatory of Paris and the original had amazing seven meters of diameter. This map, having as its center the North Pole was revolutionary back on that time, but still had some mistakes, where the most perceptible was of them all was California as an island and not a peninsula. The Map is richly decorated with figures of “Gods” of the stations in allusion the four season of the year.
Reproducing maps are real art pieces is and immeasurable pleasure, the artistic dedication and mystic of the cartographers are impressive, besides of course, the challenge to do them.

Material: polyester film 75 microns.
Technique: shapes and geographical accidents traced with nakin pen, painted with soft pastel and fixed with protector varnish against fungus, moisture and weather per the technique created and develop by Francisco Stein – 100% Handmade.
